Chapter 2
Website Builders
Wix, Squarespace, Framer, Webflow and the rest, compared for first-timers deciding whether an all-in-one builder or WordPress suits their site.
A website builder bundles the design, the hosting and the editor into one plan, so there is nothing to install or update. The trade is that the site lives on that platform, and moving it later means rebuilding it. Which builder suits you depends on what the site is for, and on whose templates already look closest to the site you have in mind.
Squarespace vs Wix sets the two side by side: whose templates look like your site, how each one edits, and what each costs in year one and after.

Squarespace vs Wix: which suits your first website?
Squarespace suits a tidy site you set up and leave; Wix suits moving things anywhere and taking bookings. The yearly bills, the fees and what you can’t undo.
