Theme Jr.About

About

The Jr. is you, if this is your first website: a salon, a studio, a shop or a portfolio, built by the person who runs it.

Introduction

Theme Jr. is a guide for people building a website themselves for the first time. We start where your visitors will, with the look: the theme follows, then the platform, and the hosting and plugins come last.

The sections follow a site from first look to first visitors: themes and design, builders, WordPress and stores, the hosting underneath, then blogging and search after launch. Theme Match is the same order as a picker, and Tools lists what we’d set a first-timer up with.

Prices are in US dollars, renewals included. We sell no themes or templates and aren’t affiliated with WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix or any theme maker we cover. Some links to makers may earn us a commission; it never decides a pick.

The writers are on Authors. Questions and corrections go to Contact.
